Linen

Woven from flax, linen is a durable natural fibre with a very good ability to absorb and release moisture. Properly woven, it is well suited for items such as towels, sheets, pillowcases, tablecloths and napkins. Linen’s smooth surface also makes removing dust and spots relatively easy. The reward for well-groomed linen is a material that ages more slowly than other textiles, and which becomes more beautiful and comfortable over time.

Care

Always vary the way you fold your linen, and roll it up for storage. This will protect it from tearing. Avoid too much heat contact if you want to preserve the linen's natural shine and structure. For best results, store linen in a dark, dry place.

Washing - Himla's Instructions

• Follow the washing instructions on each product
• Choose a gentle cycle and use mild detergent
• Wash separately from other materials and run only with a half-full machine. Some linen products release a lot of excess fibres during washing (fuzz) and in order for the fuzz not to stick to other textiles, it is advantageously washed separately and generously with water
• Wash whites and colours separately. Products with mixed colors are handled according to the strongest colour. We recommend separate laundry for the first time. Note that white detergents contain bleach and also affect white shades as these can be colored white
• Wash delicate linen preferably by hand
• Linen should only be spin-dried at low speed. At high speeds, the fibres can break, which means that the quality deteriorates and excess fibers are created
• Linen can be tumble dried gently on low heat for a casual look with a soft fall and prominent wrinkles. Do not forget that high heat shrinks the linen more
• On some linen products, dry cleaning is recommended. This is mainly due to high shrinkage
